Setting Up Cloud Storage – Azure

GeoXact products support seamless cloud storage integration to enable centralized access, processing, and sharing of street-level imagery. This guide walks you through configuring Microsoft Azure Blob Storage to store data captured by GeoXact App or Pods. This setup ensures automated uploads, secure storage, and compatibility with GeoXact Pro for processing and publishing.

Requirements

Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
•  An active Azure account
•  Azure Storage account and Blob container access
•  Installed GeoXact App or Pod configured for cloud upload
•  Internet access from the capture device
•  Familiarity with the Azure Portal (optional)
•  A designated Azure Region for storage (e.g., East US, West Europe) 

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Create a Blob Storage Container
1. Log in to your Azure Portal.
2. Navigate to Storage accounts → Create a new storage account or use an existing one.
3. Open the storage account and select Blob service → Containers.
4. Click “+ Container” and enter a name (e.g., geoxact-capture-data).
5. Set Public access level to Private and click “Create.”

Step 2: Generate SAS Token
6. In the storage account, go to Shared access signature.
7. Select permissions for Blob (e.g., Read, Write, List).
8. Set expiry date and click “Generate SAS and connection string.”
9. Copy the SAS Token or Blob SAS URL.

Step 3: Configure GeoXact App/Pod
10. In the GeoXact settings panel, go to Storage Settings.
11. Select Cloud → Azure Blob Storage.
12. Enter your: Container URL, SAS Token.
13. Save settings and run a test upload.
